Family asks for privacy, contact Attorney Lee Cohen with questions

PARKLAND, Fla., May 16, 2019 — Mariapaz Sandoval, a 14-year-old Westglades Middle School student, was struck by a car while crossing the street in Heron Bay on May 12th. She is currently in the PICU at Broward Health Medical Center where she is being treated for brain injuries and multiple pelvic fractures.

Mariapaz’s parents, Cesar and Paola, are eternally grateful for the outpouring of support they have received from their community. Although the Sandovals have seen some signs of improvement, they know there will be a long road to Mariapaz’s full recovery.

“The main focus right now is Mariapaz’s wellbeing. Our firm is working diligently to determine the cause of this horrific accident,” said Attorney Lee Cohen who is representing the Sandoval family. While Cesar and Paola work to get Mariapaz the best medical care available, Cohen asks those who have information that can assist in the investigation to contact him.
